Cognitive Deficits

(impairment or loss of memory, language, judgement, reasoning...)
that are accompanied by:

Behavioural disturbance
(agitation, aggressiveness, wandering, insomnia...)

All these impairments are severe enough to affect the individual's social and occupational functioning.

The symptoms of the dementia have two principal characteristics:

•Symptoms appear usually late in life (mental retardation is excluded).
•Symptoms are generally progressive and irreversible (delirium and major depressive disorder are excluded).
